Cobra 29 LTD Taiwan

You may notice that the early version of the Cobra 29 LTD has the microphone jack on the side as well as a metal face plate behind the plastic bezel. The newer Chinese 29 LTD's did away with the metal face plate and put the controls directly on the plastic bezel.

The radio was first manufactured in Hong Kong before it was made in Taiwan. The radios are exactly the same and are capable of 35 watts peak with little modification. The newer version made in China will peak out to about 24 watts and requires modifications to exceed that limit.

The older Cobra 29 LTD's used the 2SC1957 as a driver and the 2SC2029 for the final. These components had a greater gain than the currently used driver and final. The final used today is a 2SC2078
